About
Under the direction of the Recreation Director, the department supervises City parks, recreation areas, tennis center, and tennis programs. It coordinates and supervises all youth sports leagues and other special activities, including a summer recreation program.
New Community Center at Dan Witt Park Construction has Begun
On Tuesday, December 29th, construction of the new Community Center at Dan Witt Park began. The Park will be closed for the duration of the project. We apologize for the inconvenience, and look forward to a new space for our residents to enjoy very soon.

The City of Lighthouse Point is opening limited park facilities to provide our residents opportunities to exercise and obtain other health benefits during this continuing pandemic.
Safe & Responsible Use of Frank McDonough Park
- Practice physical distancing (6 foot minimum).
- Facial covering must be worn at all times when social distancing cannot be maintained, other than while exercising or engaging in vigorous activity. Facial covering must be worn if within 6 feet of someone not in your household.
- Only City sanctioned approved sports training with cleats is allowed.
- No groups of more than 10 shall congregate in any area of the park. A minimum of 50 feet must be maintained between all groups.
- All CDC Guidelines regarding social distancing must be observed at all times by all persons using any area of the park.
- Report misuse of the park to Lighthouse Point Police Department: 954-942-8080

- Practice physical distancing (6 foot minimum).
- Face cover must be worn if within 6 feet of someone not in your household.
- No recreational programming, pick-up games, organized sports or activities are allowed.
- No groups of 10 or more are allowed in the parks; smaller groups must maintain social distancing following CDC/Health Department guidelines. A minimum of 50 feet must be maintained between all groups.
- Keep park use to 1 to 2 hours maximum.
- Park open 8 am to sunset.

Tennis Center
The Lighthouse Point Tennis Center is open by reservation (please call 954-946-7306) for residents and members only. The Pro Shop and Pavilion are closed until further notice.
Visitors should follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines:
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Do not socialize in groups of more than 10.
- Put a distance of six feet between yourself and other people
- Wash your hands
City employees continue to follow CDC personal hygiene recommendations and are increasing the sanitization of our facilities.

Colo Colo Soccer Academy - Monthly Training
This training program is for dedicated young soccer players who want to master the game of soccer. The primary focus of Colo-Colo Soccer Academy USA is to develop the individual skills of our athletes that can be effectively utilized in a team environment.
Program fundamentals:
- Agility
- Dribbling
- General skills
- Goalkeeping
- Passing
- Shooting
- Speed
Soccer Program: Practices are year round from August to May. The program will be based on two days of training per week. Tuesday and Thursday 6 pm to 7:30 pm and occasionally Saturday or Sunday.
Open to both girls and boys form ages 4 to 15 years old, for beginners and advanced players.
Cost: Registration fee of $175 (includes 1 month of training, 2 training shirts, 1 pair of shorts and 1 pair of socks). Monthly Training Fees of $100 (beginning on the second month)

Riptide Beach Volleyball - Intermediate/Club Level
Lighthouse Point is pleased to announce and proudly welcomes into our family of affiliates one of the finest beach volleyball training organizations in Southern Florida with renowned year-round training and extensive camps and clinics for intermediate and club level volleyball instruction.
Riptide Beach Volleyball offers daily training programs for both junior and amateur adult athletes. You will find them at Frank McDonough Park, Monday through Friday 6 pm to 8 pm and every Sunday morning 9:30 am to 11:30 am. The City of Lighthouse Point Recreation Department is currently looking for Sponsors, Coaches, and Volunteers to assist with our Youth Sports Programs.
Sponsor Information
The Recreation Department has a $300 plus sponsorship program that allows your business to have a 3 by 5 banner displayed at our city parks during the sports season. These sponsorships help our programs tremendously and we greatly appreciate the support!

Coach & Volunteer Information
We are in need of adult volunteers to help with our sports leagues. The City is restructuring the youth sports leagues to increase player participation, but we need your help! We are looking for kid loving individuals who can commit 2 days a week to coach our sports teams. The City will provide team equipment and coaching support.
