Approved - Permit is ready to be issued.

Approved with Conditions - Permit is ready to be issued with additional conditions requiring your attention and compliance. Contact the Building Department if you require further explanation.

Denied - Contact the Building Department for further explanation.

Expired - Contact the Building Department for further explanation.

On Hold - Contact the Building Department for further explanation.

Sent To - Permit is being reviewed by the Department indicated. Contact the Building Department if you require further explanation.

DRAINAGE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

The City has a system of canals and storm drains for stormwater management purposes. They are maintained on a regular basis by our Public Works Department. These drains are of vital importance since the water flowing through them not only drains our City, but also the area to the west of us.
State and City law prohibits dumping into these waterways.

Lighthouse Point is in a flood-prone area and we want to encourage everyone to secure adequate flood insurance protection. Information from the

FLOOD ELEVATION MAPS
Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA)

The City of Lighthouse Point Building Department has Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) elevation certificate for residential units and commercial buildings available upon request.

The CIty of Lighthouse Point also has copies of elevation certificates for some properties in the floodplain.

Additionally, Flood Insurance Rate Maps and map reading assistance, are also available at the Building Department.

Broward County 40 Year Building Safety Inspection Requirement

The City is aware that engineering and architectural firms are sending out notices regarding the Building Safety Inspection requirements. If you receive one of their notices, remember your property may not be subject to the requirements. The City does not endorse any of the firms sending out the notices.
